Projects

In addition to announcing the races, Travis is involved with numerous other facets of the racetrack operations including publicity, program production, graphic design etc.

Program Production

Travis is responsible for laying out and designing the daily on-track program. For the 2008 season, he expanded to a larger version offering patrons and handicappers more information including:

- In-program analysis.
- Full-page past performances.
- Graphical indicators for the handicapper's best bet and longshot play of the day.
- Track bias report.
- Horses to watch.

Simulcast Graphics

New Old
Following his first season as track announcer, Travis suggested a series of changes and ideas for the simulcast signal presentaiton. The current package was designed by Travis and he calls it "60% done" and continually works on updating and tweaking the presentation.

BPCC Handicapping Course

Travis approached the local community college to offer a public course on handicapping. The first session, held in the Spring of 2007, was sold-out and was a tremendous success. It was offered again in the Fall and will start again in August 2008.
